Crescent
Roll Pizza Roll-Ups
“My goal with
Kids' Korner is to not only give my kids an opportunity to learn by my side in
the kitchen, but to provide you - my readers - a place to come for kid-friendly
and kid-tested recipes that will encourage and inspire you to get your kids in
the kitchen, too!” Angela
Ingredients:
1 tube crescent roll dough (seamless works best)
1 cup tomato or pizza sauce
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella
12 pepperoni slices
Italian seasoning (optional)
Non-stick spray
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cut each pepperoni into four equal triangles - clean kitchen
scissors work great for this task.
Set aside.
Line a large baking tray with foil or parchment paper.
Lightly spray with non-stick spray.
Lightly spray a clean counter or work surface with non-stick
spray.
Unroll crescent dough onto work surface.
Cut dough sheet in half to create two long rectangles.
Spread a ¼ of a cup of sauce onto each rectangle followed by
half of the cheeses and half of
the pepperoni.
With the short side of the rectangle facing you, roll each
rectangle up tightly into a tube/roll.
Cut each tube in half, then each of those halves in
half.
You will yield 4 slices per roll.
Carefully place each slice onto the baking sheet.
You will have 8 slices total.
If any start to
unroll, tighten them up on the baking sheet.
Bake for 12 - 15 minutes or until puffed and golden.
Allow to cool on baking tray briefly, and then sprinkle with
seasoning if desired.
Serve immediately.
Yields 8 Roll-Ups.
